When planning a holiday we tend to forget about safety.
It’s understandable, we are generally too excited by all the brilliant things have planned.
The good news if you are looking at caravan parks as an option you’ll find they are very safe and here’s why:
Safety basics
Here are the basic safety features of many caravan parks:
- Tall fences and, in some cases, a security boom gate.
- 24 hour onsite management and in peak periods they hire security guards.
- Strict speed limits to keep the kids at play safe.
- Standard Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- And every park will have at least one old-timer keeping an eye on everyone.
Taking responsibility
Even with this high level of security, it’s still a good idea to keep your cabin, caravan or campervan locked when you are out.
If you’re camping, lock your valuables in your car as there’s always a slight chance some rogue operator will claim them if they are on display.
The golden rule is to be safe without letting it ruin your trip. The evidence is in that caravans are actually much safer when left at caravan parks than in other rural areas, so leaving yours at a park while you go and explore is generally a very safe bet.
